We recently went up to Water World in Denver. It was lots-o-fun, although your's truly did get baked to approximately medium-well.

I suppose that most everyone is aware by now, but we will be adding a fourth member to the family in January.

Mindy and I are both very excited, and Kailey is excited too...about Pooh Bear. Oh well, she still has some time to get a grasp on the idea of not being the only munchkin around.

New Job...Again

After a year of working for FUNfinder, I have been presented with an opportunity that I couldn't refuse. I am going to be working on the IBM Hertz account through Artech (I still get confused thinking about the logistics). I will basically be going back to doing what I was doing while at Hertz (with some added responsiblities due to changes in personell there), except I will now be doing it from 3 degrees of seperation.

This has been a blessing because I have always said that if I could have picked my job up in Oklahoma and moved it to Colorado Springs, I would be happy. Well, now I get that opportunity as a remote Web Hosting Systems Administrator, which roughly translated is, "A guy who helps keep Hertz's websites up while working from his home office". It is a bit sad, as many members of the awesome group I worked with while in Oklahoma have moved on, but there are still a few left that I will be joining.

Please pray as I make the transition over the next couple of weeks. This move will be beneficial for me career-wise and will provide a bit more stable enviroment for the entire family.

We decided that this was a pretty good deal and we didn't want to pass it up. It's not the biggest house on the block, but it is on half an acre so there is some room to grow if we so choose.

We close on the 13th, and I will get up some better pictures soon after that.

To all of you who aren't here, we are doing well. We are living with my parents for a bit in order to save up a down payment large enough to get us into a decent house. It's amazing how different the market is here. Our house which sold in Oklahoma would be worth almost $50,000 more here. That's a pretty tough gap to try and bridge.

I'm enjoying my new job. I work from home most of the time, but it is definitely flex hours. I've already been to several weekend meetings and evening sessions that last until midnight.

Mindy started official hospital orientation this week. Her permanent license officially came through, so that's one thing we get to check off the worry list.

We're just thankful right now for God's provision in every aspect of our lives.

No I'm not a liar. Our computer has been incommunicado recently due to our move.

Oh yeah, in case anybody didn't know. We are moving to Colorado! Woo-hoo!

It's been a bit bittersweet leaving the good people that we've met down here. The folks at church have always treated us so well and taken care of us, and I'm sure it will be hard to find a better group of guys than the ones I work with down here in OK. However, we've really come to the decision that family is important.

So, to many of you...see you soon. To others, feel free and encouraged to look us up when you're out our way!

For those of you who didn't already know, we had to give Daisy away late in December. She bit Mindy again, which made 4 times that she had exhibited too much aggression. It just didn't make sense to keep a dog that gets protective over things that she thinks are hers. Especially considering we will shortly be having a little one who will be motoring around and grabbing everything she can get her curious hands on. So we were able to find Daisy a home with a older gentleman who is going to train her to hunt.

Christmas Blues

I was just thinking today about my sister and her wonderful husband who, along with their children, are serving the Lord in Argentina. I was thinking about how odd it is going to be to not have them at our Christmas celebration. In no way do I question why they are there, or God's purpose in their lives, but they will truly be missed this year as we go about our Christmas traditions. Jeremy, Katie, and family, we love you and miss having you around.

This holiday season we will undoubtedly open every present and observe every tradition as we joyously celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We will sing every carol and most assuredly eat every pie. We will watch every sappy Christmas movie as they are paraded into our living room. We will hang every wreath. We will trim every tree. We will do every little thing we always do this time of year. Yet our Christmas could never be complete, because part of it is now in Buenos Aires.

Merry Christmas Estremas! Your presence will be sorely missed in every activity this year. Remember that in everything you do, you have your family's love and support and you are in their prayers continually.

So, we managed to fall into the latter 50% of the doctor's prediction last week. We seem to be oh so very close, but it is getting somewhat frustrating for all of us.

Mindy must be getting tired of every time she so much as hints at any discomfort, me jumping up asking..."Are you having a contraction?" Getting called at least 6 times a day, and me on the other end asking "How are you feeling?"

Roberta being down here has been a welcome relief though. She is able to keep Mindy company since she isn't working any more. Also, I don't have to worry about things like all these people stealing babies from pregnant mothers.

I've really likened the feeling to waiting for a delivery in the mail of some sort. You know it's on it's way and it could come any day, but you are disappointed day after day when the package doesn't show up.

Oh well, I guess Kailey must be shy...just like her Dad! :)

At the doctor's office today, our doctor was impressed with how far Mindy has progressed in the past week. She is now saying that we are just as likely to see her in the delivery room before we are suppossed to see her at our next appointment on the 26th.

I believe her exact words were, "I would be surprised if you are not in labor in the next week." However, the unfortunate thing about this news is that we will most certainly be dissappointed if Kailey doesn't make her entrance before next tuesday.

Oh well, the saga continues...

My lovely wife would prefer that I take a "good" picture of her, and not one of her in the clothes that she bums around the house in. Being a man of better than zero intelligence, I have agreed to wait until we have the opportunity before a Sunday service or some such time.

In other words, I would prefer not to aggravate the heavily pregnant member of the family by bugging her to get all dressed up for a 5 minute photo session. Sorry! :)

In other news, at the doctor's office yesterday, the doctor informed us that her best guess is that Kailey will be about 7 lbs. when she is born. (Insert Mindy's sigh of relief here). She also confirmed that Mindy is exactly where she should be physically, which I roughly translate to mean that Kailey will be more or less "on time". (insert Mindy's sigh of dissappointment here). We are going to the doctor weekly now and I, for one, am starting to get really excited.

Ok, here's the deal. I wanted to take a picture of the nursery with it's nice new paint and decorations and furniture. However, it seems I've been over-ruled. Mindy thinks that we can't post pictures of the nursery until she has curtains up and puts a few extra touches on the room. I say "Boo"!!!

Oh well, there's 3 of us and since I can't actually prove that Kailey is on my side, I've been out voted. Any displeasure with the lack of pictures on this post should be directed squarely at the pregnant member of this marriage. Let her have it! :)

Monday is our 2nd, that's right count 'em, anniversary. It seems like just weeks ago that we were getting everything ready for the wedding, and now we are expecting a little one in less than 3 months.

I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest love and affection for my wonderful wife. Mindy, you are, and will always be the love of my life. I can't imagine my life without you, nor do I ever want to. You mean everything to me and will always be my one and only. If I didn't have you, my life would be incomplete (not to mention a good bit messier!). I am looking forward to many more wonderful years with you, my life companion, my friend, my wife.

Thanks for all of the prayers over the past week. Although she was down and out for 5 days, Mindy still managed to pass her nursing boards on Friday with flying colors. She is feeling much improved and most encouraged about becoming an official RN!

Is This Selfish?

The other day, while sitting down trying to feel the Baby move, Mindy asked me what my greatest fear for our daughter was. What a question! When I really sat down to ponder it though, I realized that my worst fear for our daughter was that I would somehow affect her life in a negative way. I am absolutely petrified that some decision or action of mine will cause her irreversible harm or handicap her in some way.

The more I think about parenting the more intimidating of a task it seems to be. Will I have what it takes to live up to my responsibilities both to her and to Mindy? If you have never dwelled on the contents of I Timothy 5:8, then give it a look. Quite a sobering verse of scripture and an explicit charge to a husband/father to provide for his family.
